Elderly woman in a serious condition after crash

AN ELDERLY woman remains in a serious condition in hospital after she was hit by a car in Battle on Friday evening (November 23).

Emergency services were called to the High Street at 5.10pm following the incident just north of Mount Street.

A grey Peugeot 307 driven by a 70-year-old local man was being driven northbound when it collided with an 83-year-old local woman.

The woman was taken to Kings College Hospital in London where she remains in a serious condition.
