Eight arrests in drugs raid

EIGHT arrests were made last week as part of an ongoing police operation.

A home in Devonshire Road was raided last Thursday and four men and two women were arrested for various drugs offences.

They were all bailed to return to Hastings police

station at a later date while analysis of the substances seized takes place.

A home in Cornwallis Gardens was raided the same day. No drugs were found but two men were arrested for theft and burglary.

They have been bailed to return to the police station at a later date.

Officers made the raids as part of Operation Vertigo, which aims to crack down on drug dealing in Hastings.

Detective Inspector Tim Nunn said: "These are more examples of our continued efforts to disrupt the supply of drugs in Hastings.

"We acknowledge it is a continuing problem and therefore urge people to call us with information.

"That information, however trivial you may think it is, helps us to build a picture of the problem and act on it, whether that is with warrants, covert tactics or increased patrols."
