A budding artist is celebrating after winning a design competition.
Recently the Hastings Observer teamed up with Tesco Extra, Hollington, to help raise awareness of their Farm To Fork service.
The service provides free behind-the-scenes tours to local primary schools.
To raise awareness of the scheme, we invited our young readers to draw a colourful tractor and send it into us for a public vote.
There were scores of entries but the winner was seven-year-old Kai Cresswell who goes to ARK Little Ridge Primary Academy, in Little Ridge, St Leonards.
Community Champions Mandy Ashenden and Lisa Noon took his winning £50 Tesco gift card to the school and presented Kai with his prize.
We would like to wish Kai congratulations and hope he enjoys his prize.
Farm to Fork Trails are designed to get children closer to the food they eat.
Pupils can visit the in-store bakery to see how bread is made or visit its suppliers to see how vegetables are grown, harvested and packed before being sent to stores.
Trail guides and suppliers can also visit schools or youth clubs to give an interactive, hands-on talk all about where food comes from.
Any local primary schools who would like to know more about Farm to Fork free school trips can contact Mandy Ashenden or Lisa Noon on 07864054522 or email Hastingsextra@eathappyproject.com.
