Eco-friendly pupils set to flood into Littlehampton

YOUNG eco-warriors across the Gazette’s patch will be descending upon Littlehampton to show off their green-fingered credentials.

Around 150 pupils from 10 primary schools across the area will be taking part in a new eco-summit at The Littlehampton Academy, on March 14.

Organised by the group “Eco. Young. Engaged.” (EYE Project) the day will see children taking part in 12 different workshops at the academy, covering a wide range of topics, from recycling, healthy eating and wind power to ways the youngsters can show off their eco skills.

Sara Hopkins, community liaison manager at the academy, said: “We are really pleased to be hosting the EYE Project eco summit.

“Our local primary schools take their eco responsibilities very seriously and this is a wonderful way to celebrate the work the children have already done and to introduce them to key people and organisations in the wider community who share the same passion.”

Members of the The Southern Co-operative, a band of organisations ranging from Sussex Wildlife Trust, The Body Shop and Southern Water will be leading the workshops.
