The fourth annual International Food Festival, Eat Global, returns to town next Saturday (March 21) at an opening event in Priory Meadow Shopping Centre.
From 11.30am foodie street performers will be waiting to entertain shoppers.
The elegant, stilt walking Pink Tea Ladies will be on hand with information about the Eat Global festival programme and from 12.15pm Bicycle Bistro, the world-famous Circo Rum Baba’s eccentric waiters will provide 40 minutes of hat juggling, plate spinning, tea dancing, musical saw playing, acrobatics, magic tricks and café mayhem on their bistro wheels.
Councillor Kim Forward, the council’s lead member for housing and community services, said: “Eat Global is a chance to taste the world without leaving town. This festival of international cuisine celebrates the restaurants, shops and cafes of the most ethnically diverse town in the area. The week will be packed with delicious festival fare and some special offers in cafes and restaurants across town.”
The festival runs from March 21 to 28. For further information, visit www.eatglobal.co.uk.
