Eastergate pupils explore the world

Its pupils spent a week learning about various nationalities and turning their knowledge into creativity.

All of them had the chance to play a didgeridoo from Australia. Some made a montage about Mauritius. Others made Italian pizzas while another class drew national flags.

Barry Godden, ten, said: “We made the flags of Germany and New Zealand because we have been learning about those countries. I learnt frankfurters came from Germany – I thought they were from America.”

Classmate Joseph Bryant, nine, said: “I learnt about the Pink and White terraces in New Zealand, which were the eighth wonder of the world.

“They were columns with water running down them and they were destroyed by an earthquake.”
