Easter: refuse and recycling collections

People living and working in the Lewes district will experience some changes to their refuse collection and kerbside recycling service over the Easter period.

Refuse collections for the week beginning 2 April will be as follows:

On Monday 2 April refuse will be collected as normal

People whose collections normally take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday should put their refuse out one day earlier than usual.

For example, residents whose normal collection day is Wednesday should get their bags outside on Tuesday 3

There will be no service on Friday 6 April, Saturday 7 April and Sunday 8 April.

In the week beginning Monday 9 April refuse collections will be made one day later than usual, as follows:

Monday 9 April - collection will be Tuesday 10 April

Tuesday 10 April - collection will be Wednesday 11 April

Wednesday 11 April - collection will be Thursday 12 April

Thursday 12 April - collection will be Friday 13 April

Friday 13 April - collection will be Saturday 14 April.

Collections from Monday 2 to Thursday 5 April inclusive will take place as normal

There will be no service on Friday 6 April and Monday 9 April. People whose collections would normally take place on Friday 6 April will have their collection on Friday 20 April. Residents whose collection would have been due on Monday 9 April will have their materials collected on Monday 16 April and Monday 23 April and then fortnightly.

Recycling materials will be collected as normal on Tuesday 10, Wednesday 11, Thursday 12 and Friday 13 April.
