The East Sussex Arts Club said farewell to it much loved and admired speaker DR. Graham Whitham who to our loss has decided to retire.
His subject this time was “ ART DECO DESIGN.
He talked about the buildings and interiors of the 1920s and how in building at least they are still a big influence.
Many of us remembered the narrow based cups with solid triangles for handles, easy to tip over, impossible to pick up and when you did master it the tea was cold.
What a good thing they have gone.
As usual Graham was informative and amusing and we will miss him.
The painting competition “After Monet” was won by Evelyne Gray for her felted picture.
The next meeting will be a Demonstration by Richard Larkin on July 11th at 2pm. more details can be found on http.//eastsussexartsclub.org
