DWELLING on the past has paid off for author Nathan Goodwin.

Fans of his first crime novel are snapping up more than 100 downloads of the book every week.

The 36-year-old has just swapped his full time role as a primary school teacher to go part time to concentrate on his writing career.

Nathan, who was born and raised in Hastings, has already written several books about his home town area, Hastings at War and Hastings Through Time, Around Battle Through Time and Around Hastings Through Time.
This is the first time the former Hillcrest School student has written a fictional book. It has taken two years to write Hiding The Past while Nathan studied for an MA in creative writing. The story is a geneological crime mystery which involves character Morten Farrier, who studies family lineages, suddenly discovering he has been adopted himself. Nathan, who now lives in Sellinge, near Ashford, studied radio film and television Canterbury Christchurch University.

He said: “The book has been a labour of love and it’s selling really well especially in America. I have swapped down to part time status to be able to concentrate on the book.

“I got idea from researching from my family tree and just thought about putting a spin on it. The idea has taken off and I’m already planning my second book.” To buy a copy visit www.nathangoodwin.co.uk
