Driver admits death crash responsibility

A 34-year-old man from St Leonards has pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving.

Michael Thompson, of Warrior Gardens, admitted being responsible for the death of Hastings motor-cyclist Andrew Howe (pictured left) at Church Hill, Little Common.

Lewes Crown Court heard how Thompson was speeding and on the wrong side of the road overtaking when he hit Mr the opposite direction.

The accident, last August between Howe's motorbike, which was coming in Thompson's E-reg Honda Accord and Mr Howe's Yamaha 600 motorcycle, took place on the main A259 road at Little Common.

Mr Howe, who was aged 42, and lived in Brook Street, Hastings, died from the injuries he sustained in the crash.

Sentencing on Thompson was adjourned so that pre-sentence reports can be prepared.

He was bailed until next month but has been immediately banned from driving.
