AN art auction raised more than £2,000 for charity.
A host of local artists donated pieces to the Dragon Bar for its fundraising evening last, with all the cash raised going to two children’s charities.
The Old Town venue has previously exhibited work by renowned local artists Lester Magoogan and has become something of a hub for creative locals.
And on Wednesday the George Street bar was full to the rafters with punters keen on picking up a bargain.
Paddy Piggott, who owns the popular pub, was delighted. He said: “We raised £2,025 which will be split between Evelina Children’s Hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas Hospital.
“Our two managers both have children who were seriously ill last year so we decided to do this fundraiser as a thank you.
“The evening went very well and we are planning to do something similar next year. We would like to thank the artists who brought in their work and to those who bought it.”
