A charity which helps people suffering from mental health problems has received a cash boost.
Members of the Hastings Beer and Music Festival Committee, along with main event sponsor Ross Garnett, of Dynamic Scaffolding, visited Health in Mind to hand over a cheque for £2,750 donated from the 2014 proceeds.
Luca Venditto, from Hastings Round Table, said: “We were pleased to learn that Health in Mind intends to use the funds to promote its service in the community and to ensure everyone who could benefit is aware of the help available.”
Health in Mind provides free courses, therapy and self-help support to help with stress, anxiety and low mood.
Laura Oak, psychological wellbeing practitioner, said: “The service is free and available from 8am to 8pm on weekdays, making it convenient for people to access around their work and social commitments. We provide a wide variety of support to anyone experiencing difficulties as a result of stress or anxiety including one-to-one support and our popular stress control courses which provide people with really useful tools to help manage their wellbeing. We’re delighted to have been involved with the Hastings Beer and Music Festival and in helping to raise awareness of mental health.”
