Don’t suffer domestic violence in silence

A HELPLINE for people suffering from domestic abuse wants to reassure victims they are not alone this Christmas.

Last month more than 6,000 leaflets were handed out locally as part of the White Ribbon scheme to end domestic violence.

And with tensions often running high during the festive season, the people behind the project are urging victims not to suffer in silence.

The Freephone National Domestic Violence Helpline, which is run by Women’s Aid and Refuge, is 0808 2000 247.

Alternatively, victims can ring the CRI Domestic Abuse Service locally on 01424 716629.
