'˜Deliberate' motorcycle fire and flooding in St Leonards

A '˜deliberate' motorcycle fire in woodland and potentially dangerous flooding in St Leonards kept firefighters busy yesterday afternoon (Monday, May 2).

One East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service appliance from Hastings was sent to Gillsmans Hill after reports of a motorbike on fire at around 4.25pm.

The fire was out on arrival and no action was required by crews but the service believe it was deliberate.

Crews left the scene at about 4.55pm.

Earlier, one fire engine from Hastings was called to reports of flooding affecting electrics on Upper Church Road at around 3.05pm.

Crews isolated the leak and made the area safe before leaving the scene at about 3.30pm.
