Death crash driver named

A man who was killed when his car hit a tree has been named.

Clayton Harffey, 32, of Burgh Hill, Golden Cross, died on Sunday.

The accident happened in Nash Street, Golden Cross, near Hailsham, at around 2.30am.

A woman passenger, aged 25, was taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital with life threatening injuries

Police said the black Renault Clio left the road. No other vehicle was involved.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
