ALEXANDRA Park will once again host one of the south east’s biggest beer festivals.
More than 100 real ales will be on offer at the Hastings Beer and Musical Festival (HBMF) as well as a host of bands and performers from 1066 Country.
The annual shindig, which is entering its 30th year, will take place on the weekend of July 1 and 2.
Boasting Europe’s longest bar, the festival and its giant marquee will feature live turns from the ever-popular 1066 Rockitmen, SPIN, MT Vessells, Cushty and Stagefright, as well as one or two surprises.
Christophe Philipps, one of the local Round Table team organising the event, is predicting a bumper year - but is remaining tight-lipped over the identity of the special guests.
He said: “We don’t want to ruin the surprise – or surprises – just yet, but we’re making HBMF 2011 one to remember - marking our 30th anniversary in style with good music, good beer, good fun – and all for good causes.
“We hope Hastings will support us as positively as always.”
Proceeds from the festival are shared out among local charities and so far the event has raised more then £500,000.
Last year’s festival proved so popular that revellers had to be turned away at the door and demand is sure to be high again, with an all-new Saturday Showcase being added to the bill.
The session will hand over the stage to local and up-and-coming musicians and anyone who fancies trying their luck and taking part should log on to www.hbmf.co.uk for more information.
Evening tickets are also available, priced £10 in advance online, and Saturday Showcase tickets are £5 for adults and £2 for children.
