‘Dangerous structure’ at St Leonards church

Firefighters were called to a ‘dangerous structure’ at a church in St Leonards this afternoon (Monday, January 4).

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a dangerous structure at Christ Church at around 1pm.

Two appliances from Hastings, including the aerial ladder platform, were mobilised to London Road which was cordoned off by police.

On arrival crews, confirmed that a wooden structure had been loosened by the weather.

Internal access was gained to enable crews to remove the object.

Crews left the scene at about 2:10pm.
