Children at Cygnets Childcare Centre leaving to begin school in September had a special party held in their honour.

A Teddy Bears Picnic was organised to send them on their way and was enjoyed by youngsters and parents alike.

Childcare manager Jo Goldfinch said she was "extremely pleased" with the turn-out, with 20 children taking part in the picnic, accompanied by their families.

They took part in potato-and-spoon and dressing-up races as well as parachute games and afterwards sat down for a picnic in the Nursery Garden.

Jo said: "It was really good fun. We were very lucky because it was really nice and sunny, and the rain kept off for the whole day. We were really pleased with the amount of parents that turned up with their children and came and supported us on the day."

Cygnets Childcare Centre is based in Egerton Park and provides both sessional and full day care for children aged 0-5yrs. It is registered to care for 38 children and currently has a waiting list, but for further details call on 01424 211117.
