To mark the occasion past and present cubs and parents attended a recent presentation to express grateful thanks to both leaders for the exceptional qualities which they had portrayed in their guidance and encouragement to many cubs.

The original Scout group headquarters was in the grounds of Holy Cross Church, Uckfield, and was destroyed by fire in 1983. Les Davis, together with many others, was involved in the planning and building of the current premises, which opened in 1986.

As a parting gift, a donation of 500 was presented to the Rector of Uckfield, Rev. Brian Wilcox, for a memorial seat from the Kipling Cub pack, to be placed in the new Garden of Remembrance which is to be established on the site of the original Scout headquarters at Holy Cross Church.

Currently the cub pack have no permanent leaders for their meetings, held each Monday from 6.30pm to 8pm at the Scout headquarters.
