A WOMAN working at a village pub was left badly shaken after thousands of pounds were stolen during a robbery.
The 25-year-old was at the White Hart Inn, in Winchelsea Road, Guestling, when the man walked into the office and threatened her to hand over cash.
The robbery took place on Monday at around 9.15am.
It is believed the suspect took around £8,000 in cash.
Police said the woman was not attacked and no weapon was seen. Officers said there was no indication that he made off in a car after robbing the pub.
The suspect is described as being white, in his mid to late 20s, 5ft 6in tall, and with a pale complexion.
He was wearing a charcoal coloured flat cap, a black zip-up jacket, and black trousers.
Detective Constable Robin Mitchell-Davis, who is investigating, said: “The woman was badly shaken by her experience. The A259 at Guestling would have been busy at that time on a Monday morning and we are asking anyone who saw this man entering or leaving the White Hart to contact Sussex Police on 101. You can also call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously via 0800 555 111.”
