A WOMAN was bitten by a dog as she walked in St Leonards

Police are appealing for witnesses after the attack happened in Bulverhythe Road, in St Leonards, last Monday (April 9) at 5.10pm.

The dog was being walked on a lead by a woman, aged in her late 30s to early 40s with short, dark brown hair. She was about 5ft tall, and was with a girl, aged between 12 and 14.

As they passed the victim in the street, the dog jumped up and bit her on the arm leaving two deep wounds. She ran off to a local shop and then went to hospital for treatment.

The dog is described as a large brown mixed breed, about the size of a Labrador.

PC Cassandra Webb said: “The road is in a residential area and is well used as a short cut for vehicles. We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything about this incident. It was a frightening and painful ordeal for the victim.”
