Woman assaulted by group of four in St Leonards

An assault on a 19-year-old woman in a play park by a group of four in St Leonards has sparked a police appeal.

The victim was struck and pushed around by a mixed sex group on St John’s Road at around 2.30pm on Tuesday, November 3, but was not seriously hurt.

An older man walking his dog intervened to chase the group off and officers are particularly keen to speak to him about what he saw.

The first suspect was a white man, early 20s, 5’8”, of chubby build.

He was wearing wearing a black snap-back hat, grey/white hooded top, grey/white tracksuit bottoms and green trainers.

The second was another white man, again in his early 20s.

He was wearing wearing a green cap, black hooded top, grey ripped jeans and black trainers. He spoke with an accent.

The third was a white girl in her early teens, 5’2”, of slim build.

She was wearing wearing a blue dress and leggings.

The fourth was a white woman, early 20s, 5’6”, of chubby build and with blonde hair.

She was wearing a jean skirt and a pink jean jacket.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to email or call 101, quoting serial 1327 of 03/11.

Alternatively they can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
