Vulnerable Hastings woman targeted in burglary

A vulnerable Hastings woman has been targeted in a distraction burglary - the second such incident in the town in the past two weeks.

On Wednesday (May 20), a man posed as a council worker and stole money from an elderly woman in Bristol Road, Hastings.

Police said the unknown male entered her home, posing to be from the council at around 9.30am.

He claimed that he was going to check on her cats.

He left the property shortly after, and it was discovered that £85 had been taken from her purse, according to police.

The male is described as white, mid-40s, 5ft 5in, of a stocky build, with short brown hair. He was wearing a white Adidas top with blue letters and blue jeans.
