Up to 50 election boards stolen from outside properties near Hastings

Police are investigating the reported theft of 40 to 50 election boards from outside properties near Hastings.

A police spokesman said officers were called at around 5.40pm on Tuesday (April 27).

Police said they received a report that around 40 to 50 A1-sized boards were stolen from outside properties in Westfield Lane, Hastings, as well as Wheel Lane, and Parsonage Lane, near Westfield.

It is thought the boards were taken some time overnight (Monday evening or Tuesday morning).

On Wednesday (April 28), a spokesman for Sussex Police said: “No lines of enquiry have been identified and the matter has been filed pending any further information coming to light.

“Anyone who saw what happened or who has any other information is asked to contact police online or by calling 101 quoting serial 1110 of 27/04.”
