A TEENAGER was robbed of her mobile phone and handbag as she walked along Kings Road in St Leonards in the early hours of Tuesday (July 10).
The 16-year-old victim was approached by two other teenage girls and a man at around 1am. One of the teenage girls grabbed the victim by her upper arms, shook her and then dug her nails into her throat before ripping her handbag from her arm and snatching her mobile phone from her hand. The man who was with the girls hit the victim on the side of her face before all three suspects walked back down Kings Road towards the seafront.
Detective Constable Rebecca Bayley said: “This was a nasty opportunistic attack by three people on a young girl which has left her very distressed and with scratches and bruising to her face and neck.
“Please call us if you witnessed the incident or have information about the suspects that could help us with our enquiries. Call 101 quoting serial 72 of 10/7 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
The woman who assaulted and robbed the victim is described as white, about 17-years-old, 5ft 6ins to 5ft 7ins, of skinny build with dark hair, and was wearing gold hoop earrings, a dark plain hoody and black leggings with a white CND peace sign pattern.
The man who hit her on the side of the face is described as white, aged 19 or 20-years-old, 5ft 6ins to 5ft 7ins, medium to stocky build and was wearing a dark greyish hoody with the hood up and baggy blue jeans.
