Police are appealing for witnesses after several people were hurt in a brawl which broke out in St Leonards on Saturday (May 1).

The victims, of varying ages and of both sexes, were in the area of Kings Road and London Road, when the incident took place between 7pm and 8pm.

“Around 20 people were involved in the disturbance, which at one point spilled into the road,” said a Sussex Police spokesman.

“Not all injuries are known at this time.

“Three women, aged 21, 22 and 43, and a man aged 28 were arrested on suspicion of affray, and a 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault.”

All have been bailed until July 3 while enquiries continue.

PC Amber Russell said: “There were many motorists and other people in the area at the time and they are urged to come forward if they saw what happened.”

Anyone with information is asked to email or phone 101 quoting serial 1241 of 30/5.
