Horsham police conducted a ’Drink Drive’ campaign from December 3 to December 28.

During this time, 17 per cent of drivers stopped and breathalysed were over the drink drive limit, which resulted in their arrests.

Of those arrested, seven have been charged and bailed to court.

Two of the people arrested were found to be driving within metres of their homes.

Sussex Police have thanked motorists for their patience and understanding whilst these checks were carried out, and would like to thank the majority of people for driving responsibly during this time.

Most drivers stopped were found not to have consumed any alcohol at all, thereby adhering to the ‘Drink or Drive’ initiative.
