TWO Rottweilers were involved in a terrifying attack on a dog walker at Guestling Woods.
The dog’s owner was sentenced under the Dangerous Dogs Act when she appeared at Hastings Magistrates Court last week.
Sarah Baltruschat, of Ghyllside Road, pleaded guilty to being the owner of a dog that caused injury to a person.
She had earlier pleaded not guilty to a charge of battery.
The attack took place last August.
Baltruschat was sentenced to a one-year community order and ordered to complete 100 hours unpaid work.
She was also ordered to pay £100 compensation to the injured person and to pay £100 prosecution costs.
And order was made banning her from walking the dogs in Guestling Woods and that she must keep both dogs on a lead.
Under the order, the dogs must be walked separately and kept muzzled.
Dogs have caused problems in the past at Guestling Woods, which adjoins farmland.
There have been incidents of sheep being attacked and mauled and at one stage the woods were closed to dog walkers during the lambing season.
Farmers in the area have warned dog owners that they will shoot dogs which are not on leads and worrying sheep.
