Residents were evacuated in Tangmere after an unexploded Second World War ordinance was discovered.

Police responded to a call about the discovery of the ordnance in Hampden Place yesterday evening (Sunday, November 27) which resulted in a smaller number of surrounding buildings being evacuated and a cordon placed around the area. Specialist Explosive Ordnance Disposal teams were called and safely removed it.

On social media Chichester Police thanked residents for their ‘patience and understanding’.
