A number of people have reported being visited by a man selling suspicious goods in 1066 Country last month.

A man working in Little Ridge Avenue was approached by a young man with an Irish accent saying he had generators, machinery and pressure washers for sale.

The vehicle was described as silver, probably a Nissan but larger than a transit.

A man with a strong Irish accent called at a farm in Catsfield offering generators, jet washers and knives and was reported to be driving a white Transit van.

The informant spoke to a nearby friend who said she also had been visited by Irish men offering the same goods but they were in a Blue Transit van.

Police received a call from a resident in North Trade Road, Battle, saying he had been offered the same goods from the back of a silver Mercedes Sprinter van.

Sussex Police officers have warned residents not to buy goods from cold callers.
