Police seize drugs haul worth £1,000

A STASH of more than £1,000 worth of heroin and cocaine has been discovered in St Leonards.

Undercover police officers were on patrol on December 29 when they spotted a man throwing something under a car in London Road. They moved in and found the 19-year-old was carrying 22 wraps of the class A drugs plus a large quantity of cash. He was arrested on suspicion of suspected drug dealing, and police also went to search his home address near to where he was seized. There they found 65 wraps of cocaine and 24 wraps of heroin, and a second man, 25, who was also arrested.

The drugs have been sent away for forensic tests but early estimates put the value of the haul at £1,100. Both men have been bailed while the investigation continues and will return to speak to police next month.
