THIS man is being hunted by police over the sexual assault of a teenage girl in an alleyway.

The 15-year-old was sitting in Greys Owl Reach near Mount Pleasant Road last Monday (July 11) at around 7pm when a man approached her.

He sat next to her and asked the girl for a kiss.

When she refused he touched her inappropriately and she pushed him away. But the man touched her again and she slapped him.

Detective Sergeant Jason Tuck, of Hastings CID, said: “No other incidents of this nature have been reported to police in this area, however high visibility police patrols are being carried out to offer reassurance to the public.

“This assault has left the teenage victim distressed and shortly afterwards she was assisted by two women who were passing by. They are both helping police with their enquiries.

“We are very keen to trace this man and anyone who saw a man acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the incident is asked to contact Sussex Police. We would also like to hear from anyone who recognises the man in the e-fit.”

Police said the man is believed to be of Turkish origin, was in his late 20s and around 5ft 6ins to 5ft 7ins tall.

He was slim and had dark spikey hair.

The man wore a black short sleeved t-shirt with a blue band at the bottom of the right sleeve, and dark blue jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999.
