Police cordon in relation to fatal stabbing

Police cordoned off a house in Chichester yesterday in relation to a murder investigation.

Residents said an area of grass in Summersdale and Winterbourne Road and a nearby property were guarded by officers with police cars and a riot van.

Police have confirmed the action was in connection with the stabbing of teenager Luke Jeffrey last Friday (March 11).

A police spokesperson said: “This is in relation to Operation Arcon. I believe the officers have now been stood down.”

Officers searched the area around the scene of the stabbing in Alexandra Road last Saturday.

Samuel Morgan, 19, of Adelaide Road, Chichester, has been charged with murder and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

He will appear at Lewes Crown Court tomorrow (Tuesday 15).
