Police appeal for information on Hastings fight

Police are appealing for witnesses to an altercation in Hastings town centre.

Officers were called to Robertson Street around 6.50pm on Sunday (July 5) to reports of a fight between a man and a woman.

It is thought the incident happened outside Debenhams, near to the junction with Havelock Road.

Police investigating the matter are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the altercation, or who may have any other information.

They can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Police said a 38-year-old man from Bromley, London, was arrested on suspicion of common assault.

He was released on conditional bail until August 2 pending further enquiries.
