Man taken to hospital after incident in Bexhill

A number of police officers have been called to deal with an incident in Bexhill.

Three police cars and a police van were seen in Cooden Drive, Bexhill, shortly before 12.30pm (Monday, July 6).

A nearby resident said she saw a man on the grass, followed by shouting and swearing, before the police arrived at the scene.

She said six officers detained the man before taking him away in the police van.

Sussex Police said: "At about 11.40am a man was reported to be unwell and acting irrationally in a road in the Cooden Drive area, and there were concerns for his welfare.

"Officers found him shortly after midday and he has been taken to the Conquest Hospital at Hastings for examination."
