POLICE have released this picture of a suspect after a father was punched in the head by a man in front of his children in a crowded supermarket.

The 28-year-old was shopping in Asda in Battle Road, St Leonards last Thursday (July 28) when he asked the man to stop swearing loudly.

But the father was punched twice, causing him to fall on the floor and hit his head.

He later went to the Conquest Hospital to treated for cuts and soreness to his head.

The attacker was in his late teens to early 20s, medium build, and had short dark hair.

He was clean shaven, wore a white t-shirt with a red striped style logo on it, and black jogging trousers with white trainers.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the attack, which happened shortly after noon, or who recognises the description of the assailant. They can call Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999.
