A MAN has been sentenced to two years in prison and issued with a restraining order, after assaulting his partner.
Unemployed Graham Dalley, 48, of High Street, pleaded guilty to two counts of assault by beating when he appeared before magistrates recently.
Dalley was arrested, when a concerned member of the public flagged down a passing patrol car at 3.20pm, after hearing screams coming from an address in High Street.
Police had to force entry to the premises, where Dalley was found with his partner.
He was taken to Hastings police station, where he was charged with assault by beating, and also with a second count of assault by beating related to a separate incident on September 28.
PC Duncan Cleverley said: “I hope this sends a message to anyone who is suffering domestic violence, that police will work with you to end the abuse, and to bring offenders to justice.
“Please do not suffer in silence, call us.”
