September 22:

Craig Kerwin, 25, of George Street, Hastings, was found guilty of four charges of being in breach of a Public Spaces Protection Order prohibiting alcohol. The offences took place at Hastings between October 2019 and January 2020. He was fined £50 for each offence and ordered to pay £50 in costs. The verdict was proved in his absence.

Anthony Huett, 45, of Warrior Square, St Leonards, was found guilty of being in breach of a Public Spaces Protection Order by failing to surrender alcohol. The offence took place at Hastings on January 28. He was fined £50 and ordered to pay £216 in costs. The verdict was proved in his absence.

Darren Meager (no age provided), of Southdown Avenue, Hastings, was found guilty of being in breach of a Public Spaces Protection Order by consuming alcohol in a public place outside McDonalds, at Wellington Place on February 26. He was also found guilty of failing to have a dog on a lead at Wellington Place on the same date. He was found guilty of being in breach of a Community Protection Notice, by drinking alcohol from a can outside Greggs Bakery, at Queens Road, Hastings, on April 28. He was fined a total of £200 and ordered to pay £304 in prosecution costs. The verdicts were proved in his absence.

Julian Coward, 56, of Wentworth Close, Bexhill, pleaded guilty to driving a Fiat van, on Wentworth Close, on July 21, while more than twice over the drink-drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 84 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes. He was fined £300 and banned from driving for 17 months.

Georgina Stoffell, 31, of Harold Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to driving a Range Rover vehicle on Bexhill Road, St Leonards, on July 22, while over the drink-drive limit. She gave a breath alcohol reading of 64 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes. She was fined £500 and banned from driving for 17 months.

Charles Scriven, 28, of Milward Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to three charges of assaulting a woman by beating. The offences took place at Hastings on May 20, 21 and 22. The court made a community order with a requirement of 80 hours of unpaid work.

David Brady, 30, of The Broadway, Hastings, pleaded guilty to two offences of assault by beating. The offences took place at Bexhill on December 16 and 31 last year. He also pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour at Bexhill on January 7. The court made a community order. Magistrates issued a restraining order.

September 23:

Sammy Gorman, 23, of Cornfield Terrace, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to causing £250 damage to property at Western Road, Hove, on February 6. He also pleaded guilty to causing damage to Reds Barbers at Western Road, Hove, on the same date. He was fined £200 and ordered to pay £200 in compensation.

Joe Leach, 41, of Castle Hill Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to driving an Audi vehicle on Bohemia Road, Hastings on February 8, with cannabis and the controlled drug Benzoylecgonine in his blood stream. He was fined £140 and banned from driving for one year.

Jayson Reader, 19, of Kent Road, St Leonards, indicated a plea of guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The offence took place at Warrior Square Railway Station on September 26 last year. He was committed to Lewes Crown Court for sentencing on October 21 and released on unconditional bail.

Daniel Robinson, 30, of Devonshire Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis when required to do so by police under the Road Traffic Act 1988. The offence took place at Hastings on July 10. He pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall van while disqualified at Upper Park Road, St Leonards, on July 9 and to driving with no insurance and failing to stop for police on the same date. The court made a community order with a requirement of 200 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for three years.
