A man who attacked his mum, a former teacher convicted of child sex offences and vigilante prison inmates are just some of criminals jailed in Sussex in the last month.

Mum and daughter Joan and Zoe Lee seriously assaulted another woman in Bognor. They were both sentenced to five years in prison for grievous bodily harm and a restraining order against the victim was imposed.

1. Joan Lee, 47, Glamis Street, Bognor Regis, and Zoe Lee, 22, of Orchard Way, Bognor Regis

PC David Mendes and PC Lee Sumner stopped a suspicious car in Holmesdale Gardens, Hastings on November 22 last year. A strong smell of cannabis wafted from the interior. Further searches of the car, suspects and a flat to which they had access in Holmesdale Gardens turned up various quantities of cocaine, including some in measured wraps. Both were jailed for two years and 10 months.

2. Lucciano Cassini, 29, of Cambridge Road, Hastings, and Federico del Gaudio, 30, of Devonshire Road, Bexhill-on-Sea

Ayensu brutally assaulted his elderly mother after she asked him to turn his music down and has been jailed. The 72-year-old victim was taken to hospital, where she was treated for multiple injuries. She was later released and taken to a place of safety. He was jailed for 30 months.
