A St Leonards man is appealing for information after a woman with a child stole a bag of jewellery he dropped in Debenhams on Saturday (August 29).
Ian Robertson, of Marcus Gardens, lost the jewellery at about 1.30pm when he slipped and dropped the bag with a Pandora necklace and bracelet inside.
After searching all over the store, security informed him a woman and a child were seen picking up the bag and walking off on CCTV.
The 64-year-old sales rep was shocked and devastated by the theft, especially as it was a replacement for his wife’s jewellery, stolen while on holiday in Turkey.
“I can’t believe it, it upsets me that somebody would do that,” he said.
“You wouldn’t think a woman with a child would do that.
“My wife is devastated, she’s having nightmares and can’t sleep because of it – this jewellery is cursed.”
