Increased police patrols in Horsham town centre to target anti-social behaviour

Police in Horsham will target youths smoking cannabis and anti-social behaviour as officers step up patrols across the town centre.

During the patrols, officers will target areas where youths are known to gather and will take ‘robust action’ against offenders.

PC James Munden said: “Large groups of youths can be intimidating and there has recently been evidence that they have been linked to criminal damage, shoplifting and drug abuse.

“It is important that parents and guardians know the whereabouts of their children and are aware of the negative impact that large groups roaming the streets can have on the local community.”

Council workers, anti-social behaviour case workers and youth workers will be supporting police in the increased patrols.

Anyone witnessing anti-social behaviour or with information about those responsible can email [email protected] or call 101. In an emergency, ring 999.
