A 16-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in a park in St Leonards on Wednesday (July 22).

A 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of rape and has been bailed until August 27.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

Detective Police Constable David Elcock said: “We believe the incident happened sometime between 5pm and 8pm on Wednesday July 22 in the park just off Edinburgh Road.

“If you were in the area and saw something please either email 101@sussex.pnn.police.ukor call 101 quoting reference 1791 of 22/7.”
