Girl, 15, punched in the face in Bognor Regis attack

A teenage girl was punched in the face during an attack in Bognor Regis.

The 15-year-old was in Hotham Park around 7pm on Thursday, June 24 when she approached, and began speaking to, a group of young people, said police. One of the group assaulted the girl, punching her in the face and in the immediate aftermath, her purple iPhone phone was taken.

PC Matt Fisher said: “The victim was left shaken and this has had a significant impact on her. A kind passer-by helped her home. We are keen to identify anybody who may have witnessed the incident and can help us with our enquiries.”

A police spokesman added: “Did you witness a robbery in Hotham Park, Bognor Regis at around 7pm on Thursday 24 June? Officers are appealing to anyone who saw the incident, or was in the area of Hotham Park around 7pm and saw a group of teenagers, to come forward.

“Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact police online or by calling 101 quoting serial 1378 of 24/06.

“Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
