Cash and bicycle stolen in Hastings burglary

Police in Hastings are searching for a valued stolen cycle and cash following a burglary at a flat in St Andrews Square.

The thefts took place early on Friday morning, April 16, when the valuable mountain bike was stolen from a secure entry area, and the flat was entered and several hundred pounds in cash was taken.

The bike is unique and distinctive as it was built by the owner over a period of time. It metallic blue, has a large frame with front suspension, 29" wheels, white front forks, a large black battery pack in the centre of the frame, and is valued at some £2000.

A man was seen riding the same bike near the One Stop shop in Ore Valley Road, Hastings, at about 6.15pm on the Friday evening.

Detective constable Nick Arthur said; "If you were in the St Andrews Square area that Friday morning, or in Ore Valley Road that evening, and saw the cycle being taken or ridden, please contact us either online or by calling 101, quoting serial 498 of 16/04."
