ALMOST 200 cannabis plants were seized by police in a raid in St Leonards on Friday.
Officers searched a flat in Marina after executing a warrant.
They discovered that a large area had been kitted out with the aim of cultivating cannabis.
Thousands of pounds worth of equipment, including nearly 200 plants were found and later seized at the scene.
Police informed the local electricity company as it was found that electricity was being extracted from the mains supply on the A259 road.
This area had to be made safe and it took three days for officers to completely dismantle the set up.
Inspector Paul Phelps, of Hastings Police, said: “Police enquiries are continuing to ensure that those responsible are bought to justice.
“I urge our community to call in with any information they may have in relation to either the supply or cultivation of drugs in the town.
“This warrant was possible from the intelligence gathered locally. Hastings Police thank the public for their continued support in fighting drugs in the community.”
