Arrests made in war on drugs

THREE suspected drug dealers arrested in a play centre’s car park were carrying more than 100 wraps of Class A drugs.

The trio were spotted in a hire car at about 9pm on Friday, March 4, in Clambers car park, White Rock, and officers searched the vehicle which contained a 23-year-old man, and two women, aged 19 and 21. The women are both local but the man was from Hackney in east London.

Police found 118 wraps of what is believed to be heroin, with a street value of about £1,180. A struggle took place when police tried to arrest the man and officers had to use pepper spray to bring him under control.

The three were interviewed at Hastings Police Station, and were bailed while further tests are carried out on the drugs.

In an unrelated incident, at about 3.30pm on Monday, drugs officers swooped on a house in Mews Road, St Leonards. They recovered heroin and crack cocaine with an estimated street value of between £3,000 and £4,000.

Three men have been charged with possessing heroin and cocaine with intent to supply, and appeared before Hastings Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Raynon Scott, 19, Lamarl Brown, 20, and Ralston Gabriel, 19, all of London denied the charges and were bailed to return to court on April 19, when the case will be committed to Lewes Crown Court.
