POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a building in Robertson Street was daubed with graffiti on Tuesday (January 22).

At 6.20pm a person wearing a dark coloured hooded top was seen pressing a board against the window panes of the building leaving an image of large bright yellow letters behind. This was repeated six times.

The graffiti has now been removed.

Inspector Gareth Evans of Hastings neighbourhood police team said: “We are keen to trace anyone who may have seen something suspicious at this time. Many people are out in town at this time of day and I would urge anyone with information to come forward and speak to us on the non emergency number 101 quoting serial 1517 of 22/1 or ring the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
