Crime levels in Arun drop

THE head of the district’s neighbourhood policing teams has revealed the level of crime across Arun has dropped over the past year.

Speaking at the Joint Downland Area Committee’s meeting, last week, Inspector Nick Bowman said crime across the district had dropped by around 13 per cent, compared to a similar period, last year.

He said around 1,000 fewer offences had been recorded across the area.

In Arundel, total levels of reported crime had fallen by eight per cent, with 69 fewer victims than last year. Likewise, parts of Walberton and Ford also saw a reduction.

Anti-social behaviour has also declined by 13 per cent, compared with last year.
