Crematorium plan reviewed
A review of the potential need for a crematorium in the Arun district has been agreed by councillors.
Arun District Council's policy development scrutiny committee decided to set up a working party to see if a crematorium is required.
Plans for such a facility were revealed last autumn for Yapton but the company withdrew its application earlier this year before a decision could be made.
Council services director Colin Rogers said an estimated 1,400 Arun residents were cremated each year.
