COURT RESULTS: Round-up of cases from 1066 Country

November 4:

Eric Spillett (aged 65), of Bushes Road, Whyteleafe, Surrey, pleaded guilty to failing to report an accident in which a person suffered personal injury, and to a further charge of driving without due care and attention. The offence took place at Sluice Lane, Pevensey, on March 25. He was fined £150 for each offence and ordered to pay £200 in prosecution costs. His driving record was endorsed with five penalty points.

Wesley Delaney (aged 29), of Hadlow Avenue, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified. The offence took place at Collington Avenue, Bexhill, on June 28. He also pleaded guilty to driving with no insurance and to wilfully obstructing a police officer on the same date. The court made a community order with a requirement of 80 hours of unpaid work. He was fined £200 for the insurance offence and his driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.

November 7:

Liam Colvin (aged 28), of Upper Church Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman by beating her. He also pleaded guilty to causing £500 damage to an iPhone and a window. The offences took place at St Leonards on October 18. He was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months. Magistrates also made a community order with a requirement of a three month electronically monitored curfew between 7pm and 7am. They said the reason for the custodial sentence was because of previous offences. The court issued a restraining order and ordered him to pay £500 compensation.

Clinton Goodfellow (aged 38), of Whitefriars Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to stealing two pairs of sunglasses worth £54.98, from T K Maxx at Hastings on October 9. He also pleaded guilty to stealing coffee, worth £15.86, from News and Wine, at Queens Road, Hastings, on September 25. He was fined £50 for each offence.

November 10:

Justin Mcleod (aged 30), of Victoria Avenue, Hastings, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman by beating her. The offence took place at Hastings on September 17. He was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for one year. The court also made a community order with an alcohol treatment requirement. Magistrates said the reason for the sentence was that it was a prolonged and repeated attack, which caused serious injury and at one point the victim was holding a child.

Joseph Nelson (aged 18), of Chiltern Drive, Hastings, pleaded guilty to entering a property as a trespasser with intent to steal. The offence took place on June 15 at Maplehurst Road, Hastings. He was sentenced to 12 weeks detention, suspended for one year. The court made a community order with a requirement of 100 hours of unpaid work. Magistrates said the reason for the sentence was because of previous convictions for burglary and failing to comply with court orders.

John Russell (aged 69) of Parker Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to observing another person doing a private act for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification. The offence took place at Hastings on July 9. He was given a two year conditional discharge and the court made an order to confiscate his binoculars.

Sharon Doucy (aged 58), of St Georges Place, Benenden, Kent, pleaded guilty to driving a large goods vehicle, or passenger carrying vehicle, on Old London Road, Hastings, on January 30, while exceeding the 30mph speed limit. She was fined £100 and her driving record endorsed with four penalty points.
